Hello, this is Navidrome Daily for October 8th, 2026.
There is no single pattern in today's activity, just two isolated edge-case reliability fixes, with the highest impact in back-end paging for very large libraries.
First, large offsets now stay correct. In PR 6289, past the fifty-thousand-row optimization threshold, song lists skip earlier rows using a row ID exclusion. That inner query had a scoping problem: it selected only the row ID, so the sort could not resolve outer column names, and SQLite found those names in joined…
Second, startup user interface is more resilient. In PR 6287, the About dialog could render before the server ping returned a version, leaving the version empty. The version link component tried to parse that empty value and threw, replacing the page with a something went wrong message. It now renders plain text…
What's next to watch is verification against large libraries with those ambiguous sort fields, and confirmation that the dialog stays stable on slow or failed startups.
That's it for today, thanks for listening.
